Kathleen and Paul are owners and live on site. So you'll get quick response to your needs and access to your washer/dryer in the basement.

Your apartment is only 100 feet from Grand Avenue and only 100 more to beautiful Lake Merritt where the winter birds are arriving. And runners abound.

Your Saturday Farmer's Market is closeby under/around I-580. Trader Joe's is just a few more feet. Whole Foods Market is walkable from your apartment. Sprouts Farmers Market is on Broadway and Safeway is closeby on Grand Ave.

Then there's the classic Grand Lake Theater. You'll find many good restaurants on Grand and Lakeshore. Walking Grand Ave and Lakeshore at night always reminds me of the Left Bank of Paris.

This area truly is a gem and Kathleen and I are glad and happy to live here. You will be too.

We celebrated Judie's birthday Feb 7. Her daughter Susan drove down from LA and celebrate her mom's birthday. It was good to see her again.

Sunbeam had their annual fashion show in Feb. Nancy did a marvelous job of putting it together.

The luncheon served (salad, rolls and dessert) was an unbelievable display of anything and everything to put in a salad....

The ladies prepared everything in the kitchen, and what a smooth-running crew Marilyn had!

We all enjoyed the delicious food, and the opportunity to chat.

Lynn did a great job of introducing the various models, and describing their apparel.

While Dennis kept busy taking pictures, Dick and Jim escorted the guests to their seats and served refreshing liquids to quench their thirsts.

Our next door neighbor recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Many residents were invited to a pot luck dinner in Howard's honor. Again, what a display of food!

But the highlight of the celebration was the arrival of all 5 of his children and their spouses .... a BIG surprise! Howard's wife, Jeanne knew about the surprise, but it came as a big revelation to Howard!

Recently we residents were treated to what is called an "Appreciation Luncheon," put on and served by the General Manager, Office Workers, Activities Crew, and all Sunbeam RV Resort employees.

Grounds Crew (Official Ribs cookers)

General Manager, Ed, cuts the ribs.

And a few volunteers (margarita makers, musicians, etc.) kept everyone happy! It was a delightful and fun time. A "50-50" ticket purchase was to provide a generous contribution to Cancer Research. The way it goes, 50% of the total goes to the Cancer Fund. The other 50% was divided in four, and each person whose ticket earned them one fourth of the prizes. Each and every winner (all four!) donated their winnings back to the Sunbeam Fund (over $700.00) It one of the largest contributions from a group in the El Centro area!

Although many residents ate their lunch in the hall, many others enjoyed eating outside and having good seats to see and hear the music provided by Jim and his crew.

The weather was perfect for a relaxed afternoon ...
(notice Paul enjoying his place near the Lake.)

This fellow has been the eyes of the park this year, Dennis is photographer par excellence takes nearly all the photos that document all the year's activities.

You can go to Sun BeamLake RV Resort on Facebook and see some of the work Dennis has done at https://www.facebook.com/SunbeamResort

Today is March 12th, and I have more to report, but that's gonna wait for another day ......

Hope everyone is doing well - that the snow is less.... or gone.... from our northern and eastern families/friends. Weather here has been next to perfect and we wish that was the case for the rest of you ...
In love and peace,
Paul and Kathleen

4/25 - INTEGRITY MEANS AVOIDING any communication that is deceptive, full of guile, or beneath the dignity of people. "A lie is any communication with intent to deceive." Whether we communicate with words or behavior, if we have integrity, our intent cannot be to deceive. - from 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
