The Lake House and the Melnariks Leave for Click to add your comment 7/24 We took our baby John up to Marquette to see Lake Superior and visit the Maritime Museum ![]() This is a replica of the structure where ore was loaded into ships. We've passed the actual loading area and never knew exactly what it was. The museum was full of answers! ![]() Three interesting lights from lighthouses were on display - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fishing is a major industry along the Lake and for years individual fishermen made these Fish Camps where they were given some semblance of protection from the cold winter days. ![]() This is an interesting museum and John and Paul stopped awhile outside, investigating this torpedo from World War II. ![]() Before leaving Marquette, we encouraged John to put his feet into the coldest of the Great Lakes. He did. It was, according to his report, COLD. ![]() The lighthouse stands close to the museum and is quite a lovely sight. ![]() As we left the town, we were impressed at the number of flowers in the gardens of the residents. This was beautiful. ![]() Back to the Lake House and playing of games, reading of books and activities in the Lake. Chris and Chet enjoyed using the kayaks. ![]() Michelle and Chris had several trips around the lake in the kayaks, too. The children enjoyed being pulled on the tube by Slade. Chris, Chet, John and Slade enjoy watching Catie, Becky, Zane and Seby ecstatically enjoying being pulled around Lake Lotto. ![]() Chet, Chris and the girls had to leave, and we all hated to see them go. Before their departure we had to get in a few pictures (Christina, Michelle, Paul, John and Kathleen) ![]() Slade, Michelle and Olive pose for one of the "goodbye shots". ![]() And all the cousins present posed for a goodbye shot, too - Zane, Catie, Graham Becky and Seby. ![]() | |

| "I HAVE FOUND that the key to the ninety-nine is the one--particularly the one that is testing the patience and the good humor of the many. It is the love and the discipline of the one student, the one child, that communicates love for the others. It's how you treat the one that reveals how you regard the ninety-nine, because everyone is ultimately a one." (9/6) |
