Family Time Click to add your comment Minneapolis has been our "home" for over a week, and our days have been happily full of many activities. Silver Lake RV Park was a nice place to leave our RV while in Minneapolis. It's close to MI-95 and the "Lake House" and we're lucky Michelle and Slade found it. In prior years we've stayed at an RV park quite close to Irontown, much further from the Lake House. Here is ATK parked at Silver Lake, facing the Lake. ![]() Spending time with our grandchildren has been a treat. Graham is one of the most pleasant and helpful teenagers we know. Always ready with a helping hand, and a smile. Here's a rare shot of him just relaxing. ![]() Much of our time at the house has been spent in their lovely back yard. PaPa and Olive have become great friends, and the two younger boys enjoy some imaginative play. ![]() Zane's been attending a two-week writers class. We sometimes drive him to class (we're learning how to get around in Minneapolis!). While waiting for his class to finish we enjoyed artwork on the first floor. Zane LOVES origami and this mobile caught our attention. Zane is a "master" at making the loons - perhaps inspired by this mighty mobile. ![]() Both Sebastian and Zane attend Ti Quan Do classes not far from the house, and this documents Seby's exam that took him from "yellow belt" to "gold belt." It was very interesting to see a variety of children and adults test and graduate from one belt to another. ![]() ![]() Playing in the "pool" is a favorite of Sebastian and Zane. ![]() Cody enrolled at the nearby Art Institute for classes in computer art; Students from all over the country are attending. Cody arrives for the beginning of his two weeks of learning and pre-college experience. ![]() Both of the younger boys still enjoy the Children's Discovery Museum in St. Paul. It's obvious how much they enjoy the various exhibits. ![]() ![]() One of the days Erica (a close friend) took Zane on an excursion looking for fossils. Zane is enthralled with fossils, and this day Erica took Zane on the light rail and bus to Minnehaha Falls. It was quite an excursion, and they did find a number of fossils! Just as they reached the falls the heavens let loose with a good shower - they were not deterred from their adventure! ![]() One evening we picked up Cody from the school and enjoyed a nice dinner with him at a local Thai restaurant. Outside the restaurant we were impressed at the painting on the outside of the parking lot of the convention center. ![]() Slade and Michelle treated us to a dinner and theater. The performance was "A Streetcar Named Desire" and we totally enjoyed both dinner and the well-acted presentation. During intermission we were able to get them outside the theater, which has some fabulous views of the Mississippi and surrounding sights. ![]() At its conclusion, Zane's class held an exhibition of their work. Here Zane explains some of his. ![]() A highlight was the arrival of son John and Christina, Chet and their daughters. We look forward to spending time with our family at the Lake House and in Minneapolis. ![]() | |

| "I HAVE FOUND that the key to the ninety-nine is the one--particularly the one that is testing the patience and the good humor of the many. It is the love and the discipline of the one student, the one child, that communicates love for the others. It's how you treat the one that reveals how you regard the ninety-nine, because everyone is ultimately a one." (9/6) |
