New Year's Eve Click to add your comment We made a quick trip up to San Diego today for blood draws for each of us. But it is almost sinful for us to go to San Diego and not stop off at Whole Foods and at Trader Joe's. So we remain sinless because we paid our respects to both places. Whole Foods ought to be "off limits" to us, but we did restrain ourselves. Our pilgrimage to WF was basically to pick up some Semolina for Paul's home made pasta. Now we are well supplied! The fish display at WF is awesome, and we did come away with a nice cut of Coho salmon which we will enjoy on the first day of 2010! Trader Joe's is like visiting a relative in another city, and we picked up a few items we can get only at Trader Joe's. While at Whole Foods we toyed with the idea of taking in a movie, but could not find one we really wanted to see, and in fact after checking our I Phones, realized we could see a flick we want to see back in El Centro. So we headed for home. Once there we also decided to "pass" on the movie tonight, as we suspect travel on the highway tonight (New Year's Eve) might not be as safe as usual. So we fixed a nice dinner (left-overs from Christmas dinner) and relaxed. We did check on our mail, and while at the office, decided to take a few pictures of the hall that is all ready for the New Year's Revelers tonight. As usual, a great job has been done on making the place as festive as can be! Maybe next year we'll get our lazy bodies up there to enjoy watching the New Year roll in.... ![]() Ron will be leading a great group of musicians with plenty of dance music! ![]() (looks as though the "0" from 2010 has fallen) ... humm surely not a sign of something ... perhaps it was still reacting to the earthquake we all felt yesterday ... actually three of them, the strongest being 5.9. It was centered just south east of Mexicali ... not far from here! And we're not afraid! Happy New Year Everyone! | |

| "NO DEAL BASICALLY means that if we can't find a solution that wold benefit us both, we agree to disagree agreeably--No Deal. No expectations have been created, no performance contracts established. I don't hire you or we don't take on a particular assignment together because it's obvious that our values or our goals are going in opposite directions. It is so much better to realize this up front instead of downstream when expectations have been created and both parties have been disillusioned. When you have No Deal as an option in your mind, you feel liberated because you have no need to manipulate people, to push your own agenda, to drive for what you want. You can be open. You can really try to understand the deeper issues underlying the positions." (9/9) |
