SPECIAL NEWS!!!

Hello to our family and friends, but also,Hello to all the families and friends of all the Adventure Caravan members who are presently traveling on the Double Piggy-Back through Mexico.

This is from Paul and Kathleen Smith. Several days ago, as Paul was using the system, we smelled electrical wire - like something was "cooking" --- we think either through a power surge, not controlled by our newly purchased and expensive Power Surge, or if some act of God happened, or if some gremlin got into the system --- we don't know what, but the little heart and soul of our system "fried".

This means that we cannot be in as close contact as we had been, BUT we will visit every Internet Cafe we can find along the way to post the various journals - from ourselves or from one of our "guest editors" --- Unfortunately, until we return to the States and get our Data Storm heart and soul fixed, we will not have any pictures to post. As soon as we get the thing fixed, we will post (after the fact) any and all pictures that were meant to accompany a particular journal.

Sooooooo - Everyone is well. All the rigs are operating well. All parents miss their children. All grandparents miss their grandchildren. All friends miss their friends!

Even so, we are all having a great time, and you'll all be able to follow us as we come to the final weeks of our adventure.

Every Caravaner sends many hugs and good wishes to family and friends.

Look for our postings as we are able to get them on the web.

Much affection to our own kinfolk and friends, and good wishes to all of you who have followed our travels. A VERY SPECIAL "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" TO OUR DARLING DAUGHTER, CHRISTINA MARIE (SMITH)MELNARIK - WHO CELEBRATES HER BIRTHDAY TODAY!!! WITH MUCH LOVE, AND GOOD WISHES. MOM AND DAD (with apologies for the "screaming")

More to come!

"I HAVE FOUND that the key to the ninety-nine is the one--particularly the one that is testing the patience and the good humor of the many. It is the love and the discipline of the one student, the one child, that communicates love for the others. It's how you treat the one that reveals how you regard the ninety-nine, because everyone is ultimately a one." (9/6)
